Full-Time Occupational Therapist (OTR) – Adult & Pediatric

Salary: Competitive salary + $5,000 retention bonus
Schedule: Must be available for after-school/evening visits
We are seeking a Full-Time Occupational Therapist (OTR) to provide adult and pediatric home health services in Edinburg and surrounding communities. This role is ideal for clinicians who are passionate about restoring function, promoting independence, and delivering patient-centered care across the lifespan.
Position Summary
The Occupational Therapist assesses functional activity demands against a client’s performance abilities to identify and address deficits that impact daily living. The OT develops and implements individualized treatment plans in accordance with physician orders and plans of care, with the goal of improving quality of life and maintaining or restoring independence.
Service Area
This position services Edinburg and surrounding areas, including but not limited to:
Mission, McAllen, Edinburg, San Juan, Pharr, Alamo, Donna, Mercedes, Edcouch-Elsa, La Feria, Harlingen, San Benito, Brownsville, and Los Fresnos.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services according to physician orders
- Assess and evaluate therapeutic, rehabilitative, and functional status
- Develop and implement individualized Plans of Care (POC) consistent with evaluations
- Participate in the development of the client’s comprehensive treatment plan
- Identify, develop, or adapt work and daily activities to enhance quality of life
- Assess the home environment for fall risks, safety concerns, and necessary interventions
- Report patient response to treatment and changes in condition to the Director of Nursing and physician
- Coordinate care with other healthcare providers and community settings (childcare centers, preschools, schools, worksites, adult day care, residential settings)
- Educate family members, caregivers, and staff on intervention goals
- Participate in client case conferences as required
- Assist in identifying additional services needed by clients and families
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely clinical documentation and progress summaries
- Participate in discharge planning as appropriate
- Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in accordance with organizational policy and Texas regulations
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations
Qualifications
- Licensed, certified, or registered to practice as an Occupational Therapist in Texas
- Adheres to the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics
- Knowledgeable in delivering services consistent with AOTA standards, state, federal, and payer requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Solid understanding of OT principles, theory, and evidence-based practice
- Excellent customer service skills and professionalism
- Treats clients, families, and staff with courtesy and respect
- Maintains HIPAA compliance and client confidentiality
